Sketches & Work in Progress

In the spirit of "failing in public" — or perhaps more charitably as a way of holding myself to account — I'm sharing some of my work in progress here. This section is, then, something of a scrapbook, featuring sketches, harmony exercises, short transcriptions and more, all as either score videos or audio.

Aside from my ongoing larger compositional work, the main strands here are: harmony exercises based on Vincent Persichetti's "Twentieth-Century Harmony"; Bach chorales arranged for classical guitar quartet; a potential collaboration with the visual artist Anno Mitchell based on Aristophanes' "The Birds"; species counterpoint exercises; and more Bach chorales — this time with my own re-harmonisations. I'm also posting some of the many sketches I did as part of my Master's course at Surrey, although some of that work might seem a little jejune by now! Where useful, I include a note — otherwise I simply give a date.
